Klauder & Company Architects was the prime architect for the 5,880 sq. ft. Tesoro Central Control Building project. Tesoro's Kenai Oil Refinery facility formerly contained separate control rooms for each of their different process lines, all of which were located within the hazardous blast zone of the oil refinery. This project consolidated all of those control rooms into one centralized location outside of the hazardous blast zones.

Klauder & Company Architects completed a detailed programming exercise for the building, developed a site selection process to compare four possible site options and then saw the building through to completion. As this is an operations facility, a detailed Human Factor Analysis was completed for the structured work environment to ensure that the building environment maintains appropriate human energy levels to promote attention to the required tasks 24/7.
